Why the opening time matters in Ohrid
Plenty of places in town are built around lunch, dinner and the evening on the lake, and their kitchens start late. If you are up early — to walk the promenade before the heat, to catch a boat, or because you are working — you need somewhere where the full menu is running at eight, not just the espresso machine.
BITE opens at 08:00 every day of the week and the whole menu is available from the first minute. That includes Sunday, which is the morning most visitors want a proper breakfast and the one most often cut short elsewhere.

Choose by appetite
Breakfast here is not one plate. It splits cleanly by how hungry you are and whether you want sweet or savoury.
- Light: the Parfait — homemade forest fruit jam, yogurt and granola, 200 den — or the Fruit Meal with yogurt, fresh fruit, almonds and flaxseed, 230 den.
- Filling and sweet: the Bite oat meal — oats, banana, forest fruit, peanut butter, almonds and protein, 200 den. The Raffaello version with vanilla protein, raspberry and coconut is 210.
- Savoury: Guacamole Toast on homemade sourdough, 250 den, or the Salmon Avocado toast with poached egg and smoked salmon, 300 den.
- Vegan: any of the three chia meals, made with cashew or almond milk, 170–180 den.
Breakfast with protein
Every oat meal comes with a scoop of protein, and you choose the flavour: vanilla, strawberry or chocolate. That makes them the obvious choice before a hike up to the fortress or a swim, and the Peanut oat meal (oats, banana, peanut butter and protein, 190 den) is the plainest and most filling of the four.
If you want eggs, the Healthy wrap — egg, rocket, avocado, greek yogurt, tomato and cucumber, 210 den — and the Avocado sandwich with egg, 240 den, are both on all day.
What to drink with it
The espresso is pulled at 8 grams to 25 millilitres and costs 70 denars; a latte is 100. If you would rather start with fruit, the orange juice is pressed to order at 170 denars, and the Green juice — spinach, cucumber, apple, ginger and lemon — is 190. Matcha is 160 hot and 190 iced.
A good breakfast in Ohrid is mostly a question of timing: find the kitchen that is already cooking when you are hungry.
